Is it like FLEE-tah?

Kinda, but with rounded lips. It's a short vowel sound.
Check this page (it doesn't use IPA, but it has recorded examples) and have a look at the short vowel sound for /y/. (The example is "Tyskland" (English translation=Germany). https://learningswedish.se/courses/1/...
