"I thought I knew you" versus "I thought I know you"

"I thought I knew you" OR "I thought I know you"?

Perhaps I'm at a party and want to go up to someone to ask that question. Maybe the person claims they don't know me. But I insist I really do know them and say, "I thought I know you." (So I still think I know them...)

Would "I thought I know you" be okay in this instance?
