Is the past tense of verb 'text' texted with 2 syllables? Or can it be 'textd' with one syllable?

It is definitely 'texted' (two syllables). However many people incorrectly use 'text', 'tex't' or 'tex'd' as the past participle - I presume they either have a speech impediment or they are orally lazy. In their mind they are saying 'texed', which is also wrong. So, 'textd' is another incorrect variant. What can you do?

It is almost as annoying as people using the word 'literally' to describe things that are not literal, as they don't actually understand the meaning of the word.
