I have been reading The Handbook of Korean Linguistics, by editors Lucien Brown and Jaehoon Yeon. In the Word Formartion chapter by Chung-Kon Shi, the author uses abbreviations for word formation rules: N-af, N-sf, and A-sf. “Af” and “sf” are subscripts. The chapter does not explain what these abbreviations mean, and I have just started self-studying morphology so I do not know what these subscripts mean. I tried to research online but no luck so far.

Does anyone know what these generally mean? Thank you in advance
