We live in Sweden. My dd is bilingual Swedish/English and she is refusing to talk Swedish in school, stating there is too much in her head to formulate Swedish. Is this a faze or should I be worried?

It's very common for bilingual children to start refusing to use one of the languages when they become adolescents. For example, a dissertation on Navajo bilinguals about 10 years ago found that the most common reason Navajo parents cited when asked why they don't speak Navajo with their children was that at a certain age the child began to answer them only in English and spoke only English with their friends.
