What fields/sub-fields within historical linguistics are in higher demand?

I am aware that translating and interpreting ancient languages like Akkadian and Sumerian are always in high demand, but I am unaware of any others that are in high demand. Possibly Old Norse? Any suggestions or comments would be helpful! I am shuffling my options for an advanced college degree at the moment.
