I need an explanation and validity of this prediction.
I was assigned the following prediction made in the 1900s concerning the new Millennium:"There will be no C, X or Q in our every-day alphabet. They will be abandoned because unnecessary. Spelling by sound will have been adopted, first by the newspapers. English will be a language of condensed words expressing condensed ideas, and will be more extensively spoken than any other. Russian will rank second."
I'm having a bit trouble understanding the predictions; I guess some parts of the predictions seem bizarre. My assignment is to basically investigate the accuracy of the prediction, and are we better or worse off as a result of the prediction coming, or not coming true. I would appreciate any feedback or any resources you may be able to provide for further study (I need 5 sources in total for my bibliography). Any thing really would help.
