which one is going in the wrong way , generative grammar or cognitive linguistics?

cognitive linguistics ,represented by Lakoff , Foconnier , and others , pretend that the generative grammarians ,Chomsky , Lanski and others , are going in the wrong way , even Pinker share this opinion . in the other side , generativists argue that they represent the real cognitive approach ,(see where cognitive science when wrong 1999 , Fodor ) , and that the present work in cognitive linguistics is a* waste of time* ..

so which side is the real cognitive one ?
