2015-04-25 02:45:45 -0500 | asked a question | Should the mother tongue be used in language teaching? Hi! I teach English as a second language to high school students and I have always thought that I should use the English language only whenever I'm inside the classroom. However, I have recently read a study that says explanations should be in the mother tongue. I suppose this is true for beginners but how about for those who already have a basic knowledge on grammar? Thank you very much for responding to this. ~ John Lour Flores :) |
2015-04-25 01:12:40 -0500 | asked a question | Are determiners a separate part of speech? Hi! I've read in one grammar book that determiners, though function as adjectives, are a separate word class from the rest of the parts of speech. In addition, I've also read in a different grammar book that interjections are not even a part of speech. It would be a great help if you can clarify these to me. Thanks in advance! ~ John Lour Flores :) |
