2015-11-27 13:45:34 -0500 asked a question Can I study for an undergraduate degree in Linguistics if I do not speak another language and have not studied another language to A-level?

I'm a native English speaker with A-levels in Maths, Biology and Psychology. My parents both speak other languages fluently and I have studied French and Spanish in the past, gaining an A in GCSE level Spanish. I am wondering if, as linguists, you believe I would succeed, approaching this field from a scientific background, with a more psychological viewpoint, focusing on child language acquisition and the development of the English language, without speaking another language?
